Beets and Blue Cheese

I love beets. I lived my first 20 years avoiding them. But then one weekend I was in Brooklyn visiting my future sister-in-law and she suggested we check out this restaurant with bangin’ burgers. She went on to share that they were served topped with cheddar cheese, a fried egg, and a fresh thick slice of beet. Yes, that’s right, beet. Little did I know that this experience would change my life forever!

My love for beets has only grown since that fateful day. Sometimes, when you don’t like a food, you just need to try it in an unconventional way and it’ll change your whole opinion. Trust me.

Grilled Chicken with a Cuminamon Rub

There’s nothing more healthy and delicious than chicken on the grill. During the summer, I have difficulty giving my grill time off. I will admit, there’s something extra special about grilled meats in the winter! Add a cuminamon rub, or some exotic flavors, and you’re sure to seal the deal with any doubtful dinner guest. What you ask is cuminamon?? It’s cumin and cinnamon in harmony – creating a smooth, sweet, flavor. Just right for a white meat rub.
